Dr Dionysios S. DEMETIS at Gresham College gives a lecture on:

Unweaving the Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing System:

Complexity, Simplicity and Paradox

Thursday, 19 January 2012 - 6:00pm

Barnard’s Inn Hall, Hollborn, London EC1N 2HH

Tel: +44 (0)20 7831 0575, Fax: +44 (0)20 7831 5208, Email : enquiries@gresham.ac.uk

Overview: Despite the onslaught of legislative initiatives surrounding AML/CTF, it is difficult to make any conclusive remarks on the effectiveness of the broader system that attempts to control money laundering and terrorist financing. Based on his new book on ‘Technology and Anti-Money Laundering’, the speaker will unravel much of the complexity surrounding AML and offer practical advice for financial institutions.

Founded in 1597, Gresham College is London’s oldest Higher Education Institution.
