Founded
in 2002 the Laboratory for Geocultural Analysis (GeoLab) is constituted
as an institution of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpretation (DFLTI) of the Ionian University, Corfu, Greece. GeoLab evolved from the work and the vision of Professor of Geopolitics Ioannis Th. Mazis for the establishment of a research institution with a multidisciplinary approach to internatinal affairs. GeoLab's mission and scope include multidisciplinary and comparative research and public education in the fields of geopolitics, geoeconomics and intercultural studies. GeoLab addresses contemporary global problems and developes strategies for the
future, translating knowledge into policy.

Israel Area Studies
Through its
continuous tracking and analysis of the
developments in Israel, the Program aims to
study and analyze a wide range of the Israeli
affairs and its security priorities and
strategy, contributing to the policy debate
about Israel in Greece and in the EU.

Turkey Area Studies
The Turkey area studies program focuses on various aspects of Turkey contributing to a
continuous tracking and analysis of Turkish developments which are of outmost importance for Greek and EU-policy makers.

Eurosecurity
This program examines threats to european and global security and bridges the gap between theory and policy to analyze the transformation of war, the asymetric threats, the prevention and management of violent conflict and postconflict reconstruction.

The program advances the study of global economic and political transformations.

Corruption
The program addresses the global challenge of international economic crime to the international community and especially the threats that poses corruption to democracy and market economyglobal environmental change through scholarly, policy-relevant analysis drawing on the natural and social sciences.

Intercultural Studies
The program investigates through a multidisciplinary approach the construction and the effects of political and cultural identities, focusing oh how they are constructed, perceived and developed.
